dr. susan schmutz smith began working with her father, dr. joe, a local pediatric dentist, as a teenager. the more she watched her father, the more she realized she wanted to follow in his footsteps. after years of schooling she finally got that chance. in two-thousand and two susan opened up her own practice. she learned a great deal from her father and his more than thirty years of experience.
i think the most important thing i learned from my father is to make my patients feel comfortable. going to the dentist is not always a fun experience and if i can make it somewhat enjoyable i know i have done part of my job, dr. schmutz smith notes.
